Starbucks Coffee

It's been two year saga for Starbucks, the once-mighty, now-mighty-again coffee giant. In 2008, the Seattle-based corporation saw its share value chopped in half in a nasty year that preceded cuts across the board. Starbucks was forced to axe seven of its Canadian stores — including the first ever Canadian Starbucks store closure, in Richmond, B.C. — at the start of the year, only to turn business around as the economic downturn eased. By year's end, Starbucks had opened 44 more locations in Canada than it closed in 2009, and while the company won't make public the number of stores it opened in 2010 until its October fiscal year-end, it currently operates 25 more Canadian locations than it did at this time last year.
