Only in Francais SVP

Quebec’s stringent language laws, first passed in 1977, have long meant that regardless of the name out front, all large retailers serve customers in French and post signs that are predominately, or entirely, in French along their aisles

The Retail council of Canada's suit has asked the Quebec Superior Court to assess the legality of the policy change by Quebec’s office of the French language.

Up to Rawdon

A great  book about the early history of Rawdon, Quebec, my hometown.

This book in two parts, it is the result of many years of research into the early history of Rawdon Township in Quebec, where all my ancestors settled between 1824 and 1832. It includes most of the original Protestant settlers and information on many of the Irish Catholic families, as well. The project will soon be available from lulu.com in hard cover, soft cover and in e-book formats.
